Lot 3022 IMPRESSIVE CUSTOM EXTENDED BARREL & ENGRAVED EARLY
2ND MODEL 1866 WINCHESTER RIFLE EMULATING LOUIS NIMSCHKE. Cal. 44. S# 21200. Upgraded with later 32" octagonal barrel with added 2-line Henry & King's patent markings, reproduction 1000 yard ladder sight, full magazine. Mounted with highly figured flame grain walnut, crescent brass buttplate with trap. Bottom of stock has a factory sling swivel with corresponding swivel in the forend cap. Lower tang under the wood is stamped "M" & "O", buttstock has last four digits of S#, 2100 in tang channel and same number stamped inside toe of buttplate. Rifle is finely custom engraved and gold plated, fake signatures "NIMSCHKE" and "LDN" under eagle & shield panel. Rifle originally made in 1869, unknown when customized with engraving and new 32" barrel. CONDITION: fine overall as customized, mechanically fine, bright shiny bore. (01-26620/JS).
